Today's text is from Romans 1:1-23 / ローマ人への手紙 1:1-23. You can read Romans 1 [here] in English,

The wallpaper depicts letters, abstractly placed over the sky and over some mountains, like a video game texture. The letters on the ground follow the contours of the mountains, and are just the English alphabet and two Japanese alphabets (hiragana and katakana) with a few punctuation symbols. The sky contains actual "words" and is where Romans 1:1-23 is found. The alphabets on the ground represent the work of humans -- imprecise, arbitrary, and basic. The Bible verses in the sky represent the wisdom, beauty, and power of God -- letters neatly organized into words and complex thoughts which give us God's teachings.  Many people incorrectly perceive nature as chaotic and random. On the contrary, it's ordained by God who created it with even tiny details in mind, has a careful plan for His work. The crux of all this is found in Romans 1:20, which tells us that the attributes of God can be understood simply by looking at nature. The text in the sky represents this symbolically; we may not find God's literal words, in a literary sense, but we can perceive nature, and through it, begin to understand God's ways.

English and Japanese were chosen, in order to symbolize the fact that God (God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit) is the creator of the entire universe, and transcends languages, places, and cultures. All was created by Him, and all are welcome to talk to Him.

Wallpaper - "The Woman Caught in Adultery"

Although God helped me greatly with these, the law doesn't recognize God as a legal entity to my knowledge, so all art assets are (C) me, Nocturnal Iridescence, unless stated otherwise.
All wallpapers are released under [CC BY-NC-ND 4.0], so share them anywhere you like, including any free-to-use wallpaper sites. I can't make them for every single possible size out there, but I hope these are good enough.

Today's text is from [John 8:7], NIV translation.
“When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, 'Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.' ”
A woman was caught cheating on her (boyfriend? husband?) and the teachers and pharisees brought this woman and said, "In the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" This was supposed to be a trick question, where either answer (kill her or let her go) would get Jesus in trouble. Jesus avoided the trick, of course. And the woman, probably quite sure she was going to be killed -- Jesus let her go free instead, and just told her not to do it again.

Although the teachers and pharisees used this as a trick question for Jesus, it's also an illustration of His mercy. Jesus, the righteous son of God, would be justified in killing a sinner, but He does not do this. This is because Jesus loves us

This was originally going to look different, but God directed me to make it like this. It's color-coded according to the (pop culture) view of chakras. Chakras are not part of Christian theology, but they're depicted here to educate. The whole thing is meant to be psychedelic, "trippy", spiritual. The unholy people accusing Jesus are the lowest level, red / muladhara. Jesus, along with the swirls in the background that come down from heaven, are the highest level, pink and purple / Ajna and Sahasrara. Radiating out from them are other colors in between, going from high to low. The same happens with the cross over His heart. This isn't a good/evil dichotomy, but rather, it's about transcendence. The wicked accusers are stuck in a struggle with their base instinct, while the heavenly things are represented by the transcendent third eye and by the thousand-petaled lotus. Some of this radiates onto the cheating woman, who was forgiven by Christ and thus is in a purer state. Again, chakras/the third eye/etc are not part of Christian theology, but the moral and philosophical things they teach us are used here to illustrate God's word. People have a preconceived idea of God's word -- what it sounds like, what it feels like, how it manifests -- and those ideas are almost always wrong because they don't listen for God's voice, they just follow society which paints God as a boring, gray, totalitarian. Some people want a "boring gray totalitarian" in their life, and God could be that for them, if they want, but it is not the only thing God can be. He is transcendent. If you practice tantric meditation, take psychedelic drugs, follow eastern esotericism, or anything like that, you can still pray to God. He won't ignore you, and when He answers, it's not as an angry, stuffy parent, but as a living transcendent Spirit who is very knowledgeable on spirituality, and who loves you. The world wants to stone you to death, God wants to forgive you. Yes He knows your sins, He wants to forgive you anyway. He did this for the cheating woman in ancient Israel and He wants to do the same for you.

God told me to make versions with, and versions without, the text.
