Wallpaper - "He Casteth Forth His Ice like Morsels"

Although God helped me greatly with these, the law doesn't recognize God as a legal entity to my knowledge, so all art assets are (C) me, Nocturnal Iridescence, unless stated otherwise.
All wallpapers are released under [CC BY-NC-ND 4.0], so share them anywhere you like, including any free-to-use wallpaper sites. I can't make them for every single possible size out there, but I hope these are good enough.

Today's text is from [Psalm 147:17], KJV translation.
"He casteth forth his ice like morsels"
I was going to integrate the second part of the verse, "who can stand before his cold?", but it ended up not happening. Still, it's part of what I wanted to convey here. God's power is somewhat portrayed by the mandala of text in the sky, and it's creating an overpowering snowstorm - both reflecting the awesome power of God, and also reflecting the fact that He acts consciously; He decides to do things. He isn't a simple force of nature like wind or rain, but rather, a truly living and conscious being who interacts with our world. Also, mandalas are an important part of art in both Islam and New Age, so I wanted to portray it in this manner for people on those paths. At the same time, this is not artwork based on those paths, it's based on the teachings of Christ (true messiah and one with God, not just a mere prophet or teacher). So then, the text here is the true word of God, visually/superficially distorted, while retaining the integrity of its meaning. This deconstruction of superficial form is very important to me, in all aspects of life.

Honestly, if you know my music taste well, you probably know this artwork is very slightly derivative of a couple bands I like, but I was careful to put an original spin on it. Those are psychedelic but based on geometry/shapes, not on nature portrayed in an abstract way. Everything here was made by me.

PS - It occurs to me, since I'm only publishing pages for my own bands, on my own blog, I don't need to write "OFFICIAL" next to every link anymore. In the past I needed to write that to clarify, and avoid accusations of copyright infringement, but I can't infringe on my own copyright, lol. So yes, going forward, I won't do that.

GKIRLOT (THWAETTR)

BAND NAME: gkirlot (thwaettr)
GENRE: Drone Metal / Noise
STATUS: Active
LOCATION: USA

The band name along with the lyrics are adapted from [an interactive Library of Babel simulation]. The "library of Babel" is a short story by Jorge Luis Borges, where an ostensibly infinite library contains all possible books that could ever be written. However, most of these books just contain garbage text. After all, it's ALL books that COULD be written. Of course, sensible text is to be found somewhere, but nobody knows where. Some dismiss the garbage text. Others seek a hypothetical book that would explain how to decode the garbage text and turn it into readable words. Despite being nonsense at first glance, all gkirlot (thwaettr) music is made with Christian teaching and intent at heart. The intent is abstract, but to try to describe it, it's basically to paint a literary atmosphere that appears isolated, yet where God and His divine power is omnipresent.

If you can't hear the "vocals" (text-to-speech), they're somewhat buried/distorted underneath the "guitar" sections between 2:20 and 11:40.

"... Has Appointed You to Know His Will" (single, 24 December, 2025, Independent)
Format: Digital / Bandcamp
Stream / Download (OFFICIAL)

On this song, God did:
Songwriting, Art direction

Done fairly quickly. I might revisit this someday. Not sure yet. The song title is from [Acts 22:14]. God directed me toward that verse. This song and its artwork are very, very highly inspired by Kenneth Holsen's drone projects (Noisteron, Ravnevarg, Holke, On the Throne, etc).

IN THE NIGHT VISIONS

BAND NAME: In the Night Visions
GENRE: Atmospheric Black Metal / Ambient with Doom Influences
STATUS: Active
LOCATION: USA

The band name is from [Daniel 7:13]. God told me to find this verse and use part of it for the band name. This was originally a noise project, but God told me to change it to this style before any noise music was recorded.

This project deals with Christianity in an abstract fantasy sense. I don't think there's a term for what this is. The "fantasy" has no grand story or characters. Rather, it's vague situations, environments, landscapes. Imagination and escapism. Empty and saturated by design. Note: I'm very acutely aware that this aesthetic can seem similar to new age spiritual practices. I do not preach these; I denounce them. ONLY CHRIST.

1) I
8:50, lyrics:
Hail darkness
Hail gnosis
Hail Christ

In the shadows of avoidance
So far away from the society I hate
Destruction cannot heal this
Pacifism cannot heal this
But maybe...

The Holy Spirit manifests
As an all-encompassing aurora
Shrouds the searing lights
In gentle shadow

Shrouds the lightless
In ethereal blue
Shroud the corporeal
Shroud the so-called "humane"

Suffocate the demon prophets
Suffocate the demon doctrine
Suffocate all falsity
And force the face of God unto all the reprobate

Let it all collapse
In ethereal blue
And let our tears dry
In gentle shadow
So far away from the society we hate

Hail darkness
Hail gnosis
Hail Christ

Miscellaneous stuff:

Top:
The sketch that's mirrored underneath the text in the logo. This actually says "In the Night Visions" - it's just (intentionally) difficult to read.
Bottom:
Images I was going to include with the download for the single, but I forgot Bandcamp doesn't let you add bonus items to single-track downloads. I guess I'll just put them here instead.

FORGOTTEN IN THE ANNALS OF TIME

[no official logo yet]

BAND NAME: Forgotten in the Annals of Time
GENRE: Post-Black Metal / Experimental
STATUS: Active
LOCATION: redacted (early), USA (now)

This was formed in either late 2014 or early 2015. I had a bunch of ideas, but haven't gotten around to working on any of them yet. So it is, having several emotional/personality disorders. Progress is often slow. Despite this being a post-black project, the only song that's actually been released so far is in a much more experimental style.

I briefly considered changing this band's name a couple times, but never actually did.

Lineup:
Nocturnal Iridescence - All instruments, Vocals
God - Art direction (probably more in the future)

Discography:

Then Show It, God, As the Blackness Grows (single, 21 February, 2026, Independent)
Format: Digital / Bandcamp
Stream / Download

Also [stream on YouTube]

Drone / Depressive Black / Post-Black / Noise
Improvised and done in just a few hours. Not meant to be very "good", just meant to vent emotions.
The logo on this is a placeholder I generated with text and a couple filters. The project doesn't have an official logo yet.

1) Then Show It, God, As the Blackness Grows
9:30, lyrics:
Emptiness
Handicapped by life
Exhaustion
Life is killing me
All alone
All alone
Fulfilling nothing
As the sickness grows

Plague
Fallen church
I have nowhere
Like there's no right path
Want
To be alone
Or to be rescued?
Emptiness
Handicapped by life
How dark can it get?
Life is killing me
Not alone?
Then show it, God
As the blackness grows

Wallpaper - "The Heavens Declare the Glory of God"

Rocky, earthy textures are placed against a photo of deep space. The text is "Cæli enarrant gloriam Dei, et opera manuum ejus annuntiat firmamentum" in Latin, and "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands" in English. [Psalm 9:1]. The idea is to show space as something formed by God. As humans form things out of rocks and earth, similarly has God created the cosmos.
