"Prudish"

Those who follow Christ are often criticized using insults like "prudish", "moralistic", "sanctimonious".

I find this very telling.

Because if the people who use these insults really believed their way was better, would they be using these words? For example, to be a "prude" is to be "a person who is excessively proper or modest in speech, conduct, dress, etc." [per dictionary.com].

Words like this imply a moral high ground, correctness, properness. But if the sinners who used these insults were actually right, and Christianity was actually wrong, then denouncing Christianity would be good, right? It would be good, right, correct, noble, righteous, proper. But doing this would also make the sinners the "moralistic prudes" because they would be doing the right thing, holding true to their righteous beliefs in the face of critics and dissenters.

... But they never position their arguments this way. When they speak, there is no sense of a greater morality, a superiority based in actual purity. They don't say, "The way of sanctimonious moralist Christians is wrong, and my way is right. I follow the path of sin because it is noble, pure, good, and righteous". Rather, they only say things like, "I wish the sanctimonious moralist Christians would leave us alone, so we can do what we want without interruption."

So it seems to me that them calling Christians "moralistic prudes" is a sign of a guilty conscience. They know, deep down, that the life they're living is wrong. They live outside the mechanisms of how God created the world to work (without sin), and their [Romans 1:20] hearts know this. So then, these particular sinners don't claim to have a moral high ground. Through their insults, they subconsciously acknowledge that the Lord has the moral high ground, and the Lord is right, but they simply don't want to listen.

 

  

May God bless and guide all who read this, according to His will. Remember that even if you are a Christian, you are not superior to the sinners discussed in this post. You are just as bad as them, and so am I. Only through the holy Lord God almighty do you and I have any hope at all. If we are "better than them" in any way (and that's a big "if"), it's only the parts of us that have been transformed by the Lord, not our own filthy selves. Also take very careful note that I never named any specific sins in this post. Stop looking at demographics and political parties, and start looking at your Bibles.

The Media That Tells You to Hate Christianity

Wes Craven was a film writer/director, and most people reading this probably recognize him.

"[A pornographic film he worked on] presented many of Craven's nascent trademarks, including [. . .] the depiction of Christian religion as a force of oppression that asphyxiates the capacity of humans to be happy." [1]

What kind of happiness does Wes' worldview promote, that can't be found in Christianity?

"Sheffler admitted that during a one-on-one sequence with Peabody, he had threatened to push her over a cliff if she failed to hit her marks."

"Hess also admitted threatening Peabody [. . .] I was very mean to the girls, so when it came to the rape scene, [Peabody] didn't have to act. I told her, 'I'm really going to fuck you if you don't behave yourself. They'll just let the camera run. I'm going to devastate you.' I don't think she was too happy about that."

A real threat to murder someone, and a real threat to rape someone. Not part of the movie, but threatened on-set by her coworkers, and done under Wes' watch: "Craven recalled that the on-set relationship between Hess and Peabody was turbulent." ... Craven noted that Peabody had told him afterward, "My God... I had the feeling they really hated me" [2]

Apparently his idea of happiness includes a libertine right of coworkers to threaten homicide and sexual assault on a 23-year-old actress and face no consequences for their actions. By the way, when Wes died, many people paid tribute to him, including women. [3] Apparently in Hollywood, as long as you make good movies, it's okay to allow homicide/rape threats on your set, and #MeToo doesn't apply to you. In the case of David Hess, you can even make the rape threat yourself and not only be let off the hook for it, you can even join a film institute and teach youth programs. [4] You're fine in their book.

 

These are the people propagandizing and rallying against Christianity in their films and mocking it in interviews.
